The first Android based netbook should be available within 3 months. The netbook will cost in the neighborhood of $250 and will be known as the Alpha 680. The Alpha 680 is being developed by Guangzhou Skytone Transmission Technologies and is going through final testing. The netbook will feature a 533MHz CPU, a 7-inch LCD screen, and Wi-Fi. The 2 cell battery included with the netbook will only allow for 2 to 4 hours of battery life under low usage conditions. This could be the first step toward more Android netbooks hitting the market as HP has already expressed interest in using Android.
