There's nothing like the release of a new CPU to liven things up on the review front. AMD just released its Phenom II X4 955 processor (reviewed by OCC here) clocked at 3.2GHz. This is a socket AM3 CPU supporting DDR3 memory yet is backward compatible with AM2+/DDR2 setups. The consensus seems to be that the chip can be pushed to the 3.7-3.8GHz range. While maybe not as fast as a comparable Intel Core i7, a Phenom II X4 955 system can be had for around $100 less than a similar Core i7 920 setup.
