This past weekend, Mininova found that it had its 8 billionth download. And how did they celebrate? By having a lawsuit filed against them. Dutch anti-piracy organization BREIN has fiied a lawsuit against them, according to a blog post from one of the site administrators. BREIN wanted a filter put on the site to block copy-righted material, Mininova said it wasn't illegal in some countries, and the two could not come to an agreement. Thus, BREIN is now pushing it into court with a full-fledged lawsuit. The case will take a couple of years, taking place in Utrecht, The Netherlands, where the company has moved office to. Looks like the guys from The Pirate Bay may have some company.
