Nintendo were delivering a presentation today, which included release dates for the upcoming Wii Sports Resort (Japan in June and July elsewhere if you were interested), but also amongst the information was the fact that the recently released DSi managed to sell 300,000 units in the both the US and Europe on its launch weekend. Of course, 600,000 units is nothing to be sniffed at, especially in just a couple of days. Nintendo President Satoru Iwata noted that "The DSi has received a warm welcome around the world" and no doubt he will be hoping that the hand-held goes on to emulate the success of previous models, which have sold in staggering numbers overall since the release of the original DS back in 2004.
