Resident Evil 5 was a big hit. And now fans of the game can prepare for the next chapter. Tomorrow, Capcom will release its new online multiplayer mode for both Xbox LIVE and Playstation Network. It will have two different game types: Slayer's Rule and Survivor's Rule. Both will have a maximum of four players, and can either be free-for-all or team play. Slayer's Rule has you hunting Majinis for points. Survivor's Rule has you pit mano-a-mano (or mano-y-mano vs. mano-y-mano). The catch? For some reason, it costs an extra $5.

Why is that a catch, and why do you act like the "extra" $5 isn't justified? Consumers didn't buy RE5 for multiplayer, they knew it was a single player game when they bought it and obviously felt it was worth it. Some people won't care for multiplayer and will just stick to the single player campaign. For those that desire some MP action, I don't think they're going to scoff at a mere one-time fee of $5.

I agree that the fee isn't high, I just don't see a need for it on top of the $60 already paid. It's not a new game, just a new feature. I'm against charging for features that probably could have been in the game, but they are like "why don't we just make it extra to get more money?"
