One of the drawbacks some people may have encountered when looking at building a system based on the Intel Core i7/X58 platform is the lack of support for multi-GPU setups using Nvidia graphics cards. Today, Gigabyte announced today that its entire lineup of X58-series motherboards will now support SLI technology. All that is required is a BIOS upgrade which you can download from the Gigabyte web site. That means existing owners of Core i7-based machines who thought they might be locked in to using only a single graphics cards as well as users looking at a new build have another option besides CrossFireX for for running more than one graphics card.
