NVIDIA Claiming Performance Lead With GTX 275

As you may have noticed with the reviews appearing around various hardware sites this morning, both the Red and Green teams have refreshed graphics cards for you to consider. Never shy about trumpeting its achievements, NVIDIA dropped an email into our inbox this morning to remind us that it has claimed the performance advantage (for this price bracket) with its new GTX 275 GPU. Of course, while you can most likely go and order yourself a HD 4890 card right now, you might have to wait until the 14th until you can grab a GTX 275. If you are lucky enough to live in certain areas you may be able to order now, such as in the UK with Novatech or Scan, or with Komplett in Sweden, Norway or Denmark. NVIDIA also provided some US and Canada links in the email, but they don't appear to have gone live yet (expect an update when they do).

To coincide with the release of the GTX 275, NVIDIA has also released some new PhysX and CUDA enabled content for GeForce owners in the shape of Geforce Power Pack #3. This includes a demo and benchmark for Star Tales from Chinese developer QWD1, a PhysX patch for Sacred 2: Fallen Angel and a CUDA accelerated version of SETI@Home.
