HP is reportedly considering the Android platform, developed by Google, for future netbook applications. The current offering of netbooks from HP use Windows, but it is no stranger to Linux. HP already offers a customized version of Ubuntu as an option for some desktop computers. However, Android was meant for smart phones, and may not be the ideal choice for netbooks. Many variants of Linux are already available on netbooks and another may just further crowd the market. Android does provide a distinct advantage it its' ability to run across all devices with little modifications. Whatever the outcome, any time Google gets involved, people listen.
