Google has just announced that it will be expanding its' reach to another sector, venture capital. Through Google Ventures, the company hopes to fund new businesses with the sole goal of profit, unlike their previous foray into this realm, Google.org. The money will reportedly come with no strings attached and no requirements to collaborate with current Google technologies, though it would be welcomed. Google Ventures will have offices in both the Bay area and Boston, and each will be headed by someone currently with Google.
