R2-D2 Garbage Can Case Mod Is Pretty Convincing

You don't have to be a Star Wars fan to appreciate the time and effort Frenk Janse put into his R2-D2 case mod. While it may not sport an integrated projector, it does feature enough attention to detail and creative flourishes to make it an impressive project. What may be most encouraging for some is that only $120 was spent to re-create this loveable little robotic character. Comprising largely of an old garbage can (albeit a suitably dome-topped affair), it manages to pack in a webcam, plenty of LEDs and some speakers to give R2 his customary bleep sounds. If you are a high performance hardware junkie, then the internals may be a bit of let down, but I doubt it would be the first concern of anyone spotting this in the flesh.
