Marvel Teams With Startup For Online Superhero Games

Marvel has recently announced a deal with developer Gazillion to develop online games based on some of its properties. The deal gives Gazillion exclusive rights to develop MMO games based on Marvel characters for 10 years. Monetary details weren’t released, but include both companies sharing revenue from the games. The first game, Super Hero Squad, will be released in 2010. Gazillion is reporting that the MMO market is continually expanding, despite the current economic situation in the world, and has also signed a deal to create a Lego based game. They hope to challenge the success of World of Warcraft, but even with the superheroes of Marvel it remains a daunting task.
