The news has been making the online rounds lately; that Microsoft will allow you disable IE8, along with other typically "standard" Windows features in the upcoming operating system known as Windows 7. But why? Analysts believe that after barrage after barrage of antitrust suits against Microsoft, the company has finally decided to enable this capability in the new operating system. Basically, the suits against Microsoft claim that the software Microsoft bundles with its operating systems, sometimes referred to as "middleware", stifles the competition of other software makers, and the ability to disable Windows features is an attempt from Microsoft to satisfy these suits, and possibly others that might arise in the future.
