DDoS Attack Strikes Mininova

DDoS attacks are not unusual with BitTorrent sites, but usually they attack small-scale sites. Mininova, however, is not a small site. In fact, it is one of the leading BitTorrent sites and the attack is rather massive as far as DDoS attacks go; 2 Gbit strong. The attack began on Thursday, originating from three different continents and wore off a few hours later. Today, it's come back in full force, originating from Germany and Argentina. To understand the extent of the attack, one must realize that Mininova is so popular, it's used to serving millions of visitors each day. To make things worse, since the attack uses UDP connections, it's hard to filter.
