While our loyalties do reside in the PC gaming camp, I'm sure a lot of us own a console as well. Plenty of us will have also spent a reasonable amount of time waving around plastic guitars as if they were the real thing, what with the popularity of the various titles available in the Guitar Hero and Rock Band series of games. It has been known for a while that work was in progress on a game that would involve the music of The Beatles and now it has been announced that The Beatles: Rock Band will launch worldwide for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii on the 9th September (yes, 9/9/09).
Players will get to experience the bands catalogue of music through guitar, bass, mic or drums and will also be able to pick up instruments modelled after those used by the band (though the game will be compatible with previous Rock Band hardware). Pricing will be set at $59.99 for the software, $99.99 for standalone guitar controllers or $249.99 for the limited edition premium bundle. You can click over to the official website to be notified when pre-ordering begins. No pictures of those new instruments available yet though.
