Having a huge base of users to troubleshoot your new operating system is one of the advantages to releasing a beta version to the general public. That is what Microsoft did with its Windows 7 beta back at the beginning of the year and has been receiving a steady stream of feedback ever since. After a frustrating period of silence from MS, senior vice president for the Windows and Windows Live Engineering Group Steven Sinofskyhas has come out to let people know that their feedback is not going unheeded. In fact Microsoft already has fixes planned for over 2,000 bugs identified by testers. At its peak, MS was apparently receiving a Feedback Report every 15 seconds and has amassed a total of 500,000 to date. Let's hope all of that leads to an OS that is pretty solid when it gets officially released.
