Hitachi To Acquire Fabrik, Looking For A Strong Position In External Storage

Hitachi Global Storage Technologies today announced that it will be aquiring Fabrik Inc., a provider of external storage solutions under the brands SimpleTech and G-Technology. The aquisition will go on to form a core part of Hitachi's newly established external storage business as they look to expand their customer base and market presence. It seems that Fabrik's brands will go on under their current guise to be supported by Hitachi. Providing the deal makes it through all the usual checks and conditions it should go through sometime early in the second quarter. Finanicals (how much Hitachi are stumping up) haven't been disclosed at this time, so your guess is as good as mine on that one.
