AMD's plans for a six-core Opteron processor, code named 'Istanbul', are due out sometime in the second half of this year and today we get a look at the first demo of working silicon. The demo includes quad- and dual-socket setups for a total of 12 and 24 cores running a variety of operating systems. Foxconn is becoming a force in the enthusiast motherboard business and its Quantum Force X58 BloodRage for Core i7 processors is no exception.
