A Los Angeles woman has filed suit against Microsoft over the fees charged by the company and its partners for downgrading computers from Vista to Windows XP. Emma Alvarado filed the suit over the $59.25 fee she was charged last year by Lenovo to downgrade to XP. In the suit, Alvarado claims Microsoft has eliminated competition in the operating system marketplace and has created a monopoly. She also claims that Microsoft charged the fees "in order to maintain, protect, and extend its market power in operating systems software into the next generation of personal computing, to lessen competition, and to enhance its monopoly position." Alvarado is seeking class action status for her suit and has not specified the damage amount.

WTF!!! XP is owned by Microsoft too dumb a** Microsoft can't make a monopoly by killing support for one of THEIR OWN products, if anything they would lessen their "monopoly". A PC runs Microsoft anyways as it was Bill Gates himself that coined the phrase Personal Computer. Microsoft did nothing to harm Linux or Apple's Macintosh. Linux computers are called boxen or singular box, and Apple computers are called Macs not PC's, Class Action status over an already shoddy case? Get real lady, learn your facts first.

Not only that, but the fee was from Lenovo, not MS.
