Corsair today announced it is launching a new series of high-performance DDR3 memory modules for systems based on Intel's Core i7 processors. The 3-piece 6GB kits feature latencies of 7-8-7-20 and are rated at PC3-15000 speeds. The Dominator GT is encased in an aluminum heat spreader featuring dual-path heat exchange technology. Each module also comes with a removable heatsink painted in what Corsair is calling a "racing red color scheme". The kits also ship with an active air cooling kit to ensure maximum heat transfer away from the memory modules. The removable heat sink paves the way for future cooling options, including water cooling, as well as a custom-designed thermoelectric cooling system to actively cool the modules to as low as 20°C below ambient temperature for maximum overclockability. Corsair will also be offering a limited number of hand-picked and hand-tuned PC3-16000 kits in 3GB and 6GB sizes. These kits will only be available online through Corsairs' GT Performance Shop due to the screening and testing processes involved. Corsair said kits in the Dominator GT family are available immediately but did not disclose pricing.
