Google left many users unhappy when they decided that they would stop development on Google Notebook. While the service will remain online and accessible, without the hope for future updates users are now looking for other options.
Yesterday Yahoo! announced that they were testing a new service called Search Pad, a service that is very similar to the Google product. While the service is not currently available for users at this time, the Yahoo! Search Blog has posted a video demonstrating how Search Pad works. Search Pad, as you might tell from the name, relies more on your search results and history when creating notes, something that might raise concerns from some over privacy. Additionally, Search Pad allows users to manually add and edit notes. This is one of the big differences between Google Notebook, Evernote, Clip Marks, and similar services that are more of a open note system.
