With solid state drives growing larger in performance month by month, consumers are obviously seeing that the technology is getting cheaper and performing better than ever. While not one of the cheapest drives around, Transcend has just rolled out a new 192GB 2.5-inch drive that is connected by the SATA II interface. The latency on the drive is 0.2ms, while there is a sustained write speed of 150MB per second and a sustained read speed of 90MB per second. Also included with the new solid state drive is Error Correction Code, which insures that the data transferred to and from the drive stays accurate. There is no set price as of yet, though the drive should retail soon to consumers and will feature a two-year warranty by the company.
