Toshiba uncovered its new TG01 smartphone today, a device which features a massive (by mobile standards) 4.1 inch touchscreen weighing in at 800 x 480 pixels. The TG01 makes use of Quacomm's Snapdragon chipset, which features a 1GHz processor that Toshiba say will make it faster than any other device currently available on the market. You get important stuff like GPS, Wi-Fi and HSDPA, as well as a microSD slot and a customised interface that takes the edge off the Windows Mobile platform underneath. Coming in at 9.9mm thick (or should that be thin?), it's a bit slimmer than an iPhone, but a bit bigger in other dimensions (a 4.1" screen will do that). The TG01 should launch in the summer, with more details due at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona that kicks off on the 16th of February.
