Nokia has been leading the mobile handheld market for quite some time, with SAMSUNG following somewhat closely behind. Reports coming out are now stating that the market for mobile phones may see a decrease in sales as people are obviously buying less because of the current economic situations. While the market has not seen a drop in sales since eight years ago, it did see a drop before that in 1983. Even in the fourth-quarter of last year, the total shipments of units were down by roughly ten percent. All in all however, the dropping of the mobile phone area will be down by approximately nine percent, which may make sales rough for multiple companies.
