After waiting to see where the solid state drive market was going, Corsair is finally entering the field with its first product, labeled the S128. The new solid state drive by the memory company features 128GB of storage space, and uses a SAMSUNG controller, which has been shown to perform at steady speeds during random write tasks, instead of a JMicron 602 controller, which has shown to perform at drastically slow speeds in the same tests. Currently, Corsair is saying that they will be introducing new solid state drives in the future, so performance may increase in time, since the S128 is only aimed at the mainstream market. Currently, there is no other information on the new drives that the company plans to come out with, but the current solid state drive can be pre-ordered online.
