What do you get when you package a pair of IP cameras together with a network attached storage device? QNAP, known for its lineup of NAS servers, has done just that with their NVR-1012 network surveillance system. Solid state drives have garnered a lot of attention lately and are heralded by many as the future of storage, eventually replaced today's hard drives as the main storage medium mainly due to their faster speeds and lower power usage. The idea of using standard memory in place of flash in a storage drive is not new, but ACard has a new twist on the RAM disk in its ANS-9010 SATA RAM disk device. For those looking to get a prebuilt water cooling setup the CoolIT Domino A.L.C. is a good option (reviewed by OCC here).

He he - at least I know you were more awake than I was when I posted the roundup this morning. Fixed.

What's wrong with being optimistic?
