Circuit City had already closed 155 stores toward the tail end of last year and was looking to find a buyer or other kind of deal that would keep them going. As nobody has stepped in, Circuit City will now be liquidating its remaining 567 US stores, taking over 30,000 jobs with it in the process. Offering an alternative to the other large electronics retailer, Best Buy, some will be sad to see it go (those Circuit City employees losing out on a job for example). So far there has't been any word on how the retailers Canadian based stores will be affected. Good luck goes out to any OCC members who will be bowing out with the stores.
