Chances are you've happened across an Apple Store at some point, and even if you've never owned an Apple product, nor even had the desire to, you've gone in just to take a look. Many people have always wondered why Microsoft hasn't opened a similar store for its plethora of products. Just think how much it could have helped Microsoft if it had such stores for the Vista launch. After all, so many people who have tried Vista love it, yet it got such a bad rep when it first came out, simply because people didn't know any better. Microsoft finally unveiled its "Retail Experience Center" in a 20,000 square foot facility at its Redmond, Washington headquarters, and claim the store is fully functional...but curiously not open to the public. Based on the video and pictures, it certainly looks like it could be a huge boost for Microsoft, so one has to wonder why they're not actually doing public testing and rolling it out to other locations. If they can get a few stores launched by the time Windows 7 is released, it could be the spark that Microsoft needs to regain some of the ground it's lost to Apple recently.
