AMD Plans Graphics Supercomputer

Dirk Meyer, who is president of the graphics and processor manufacturer, stated that the company plans on delivering a supercomputer that contains 1,000 graphics processing units. This design will be based on AMD Phenom II processors, as well as a 790 motherboard chipset, and of course, the 1,000 graphics processing units. These GPUs will be the Radeon 4870 card, which is known to deliver substantial performance. The company plans on this supercomputer to be available via the internet cloud system, and will allow users to work with the power of the awesome creation. The main use for now is to stream and render contents to mobile users so they can save battery life and the need for a faster processor in their system. Even though the main use is slated towards mobile use, AMD plans to let users use the supercomputer to work with games or other virtual world scenes.
