Comcast is expanding the areas eligible for its 50Mb/s Interent service to include the Chicago and Atlanta metropolitan areas as well as Baltimore and Fort Wayne, IN. The four cities join Minneapolis/St. Paul, Boston, Philadelphia and certain regions in Washington and Oregon. By the end of the year, the service will be available to about 10 million homes and businesses, about 20 percent of Comcast's service area. The new wideband service will be available in two tiers ranging from 22Mb/s to 50Mb/s and cost $62.95 or $139.95 per month.
