Microsoft Office Apps To Appear Online

Those familiar with online applications from the likes of Google will know that such things have been available for a good while now. Microsoft has so far been a little slow in offering its own office applications to users in a similar manner, but has said it will begin to do so next year. Programs from the MS Office suite, along with Exchange and Sharepoint will find a new home in the "cloud", with free versions supported by ads being likely. You can also expect subscription based or more traditionally licensed online versions to appear, with Microsoft pledging compatibility with rival browsers such as Firefox. An exact date for the introduction of the online apps is not given, but with apparent strong interest from existing customers let's hope that it is sooner rather than later.
