Around three months ago, ASUS launched a product known the Eee Box, to consumers who wanted a compact and low priced nettop. After recent reports of the nettop not running up to standards, ASUS is now planning to equip the Eee Box with a Celeron processor. The new model will also include improved storage, from an 80GB hard drive to a 120GB hard drive. The Eee Box is planned to retail for less than its Atom-powered counterpart, and should sell more units overall due to the drop in price. ASUS plans on its Eee Box product to reach approximately 150,000 customers this year, and expects that number to increase to roughly one million by the end of 2009.
