Hardships are facing many companies, including Motorola and even Nokia, which are both experiencing layoffs due to poor business decisions and the current economic position. Palm has now laid off an unspecified number of employees as it is facing challenges in both the industry and the company itself. The smartphone maker has laid workers off in the past due to similar reasons. Palm has also been developing a Linux-based operating system for its smartphones, but has still has not completed it yet, even though many people planned for it to be released at the end of last year. The company has shown its financial struggle even more with the cancelation of its smartphone companion product, the Foleo.
