AMD announced it will be launching its newest Deneb processors at CES next January. The processors will keep the Phenom name with a 'II' along with an 'X3' or 'X4' depending on the number of cores involved. Each processor also gets a model number. Got that? The first two processors to be released will run on socket AM2+ boards using DDR2 memory. The Phenom II X4 920 will be clocked at 2.8GHz and the 940 at 3.0GHz. Both processors will have 6MB L3 cache and a 125W TDP. The next round of Deneb core processors are slated for release in February 2009 with clocks ranging from 2.5GHz to 2.0GHz and either 4MB or 6MB of cache and a 95W TDP. All with be on the newest AM3 socket supporting DDR3 memory.
