For the past month or so, SAMSUNG has been on a constant roll in both company milestones as well as market milestones. To further the recent news regarding the company, research firm Strategy Analytics, announced that Motorola has been knocked off of its five-year reign of the mobile phone sales in the United States. SAMSUNG now holds approximately 22.4 percent of the market share, followed by LG Electronics, with a total market share of 20.5 percent. Motorola is barely ahead of LG though, with a total market share of 21.1 percent. This news comes after Motorola cut 3,000 jobs because of a reported loss of $397 million in its third-quarter earnings.
