Alienware's new M17 gaming notebook comes with the option of a pair of CrossFire-X enabled Mobility HD3870 graphics cards. You can also drop in Core 2 Quad or Extreme processors, up to 4GB of DDR3, dual hard drives in RAID 0 and a Blu-ray drive. Throw in a 17-inch 1920x1200 resolution screen and you are on your way to a pretty expensive new toy that will no doubt put some considerable strain on the included 12-cell battery. You can spec out an M17 from as little as $1,399, but you aren't going to get much (or any) of the above for that kind of price. In fact you'll be getting towards four grand pretty quickly if you opt for the top of the range QX9300 processor option.
