Foxconn today announced the second motherboard in its Green Series. Based on Intel's G45 chipset, the G45MG offers several power management technologies to reduce overall power consumption without significantly impacting overall system performance. The G45MG includes integrated graphics based on the Intel X4500HD graphics core and supports the latest Core 2 quad- and dual-core processors. That means the motherboard is ready to play play Blu-ray and HD DVD content out of the box. Foxconn claims its proprietary 3G technologies can reduce typical power consumption by up to 68%. Designed to work in conjunction with its GPS300AB Green Series PSU, the board can dynamically cut power consumption based on usage whether in standby mode, light loading or heavy usage. The G45MG should be available around the end of October/beginning of November.
