T-Mobile may be riding high on customer demand of its G1 Android phone, but right now it may be facing a public relations disaster with the recent news that it lost 17 million customers records. The fact that the loss occurred is bad enough, but the loss occurred early in 2006 and the company is just now owning up to the loss over two years later. T-mobile is a subsidiary of Germany's Deutsche Telekom and the loss apparently affects customers in Germany including many notable residents in that country. The loss finally came to light after one of country's leading news magazines, Der Spiegel, published a report saying the data was being offered for sale on the Internet. The data includes personal information such as names, addresses, mobile phone numbers and dates of birth.
