The McCain campaign in Missouri has suffered a loss of what is considered sensitive information after a laptop was stolen from a field office. The laptop contained information on how the campaign was going to approach the Kansas City area. The laptop seemed to have been targeted in the theft. The thief gained entry by tossing a brick through a front window on the office. There were twenty-plus Eee PCs used by phone staff which were ignored by the thieves. The stolen laptop was in a bag carried by a regional campaign representative so staffers are concerned the theft may have been politically motivated.
