Private Space Flight Firm Turns Down $1 Million Adult Movie Offer
With the unveiling of its WhiteKnight Two aircraft, Virgin Galactic is set to begin offering paying customers a chance to experience sub-orbital space flight sometime in 2009 or 2010. At a cost of around $200,000 per person, customers with be ferried to the outer reaches of Earth's atmosphere where they will experience about five minutes of weightlessness before beginning the return trip back to the ground. The company says it has already taken around $40 million in deposits from 280 people but disclosed it had to turn away a different kind offer from one party. That must have been a difficult business decision as it was for $1 million dollars up front to shoot an adult-oriented film while the cast floated free from the constraints of gravity.
