As we have reported previously, hacker Gary McKinnon decided to take his case to the European Court of Human Rights after losing his final appeal in Britain. The appeal to the European court has now been lost and McKinnon faces extradition to the U.S. within two weeks. If he is tried and convicted, he could now face the prospect of life in jail in a country he has never set foot in previously. McKinnon has admitted breaking into 97 US military and NASA computers in search of information on UFOs. McKinnon is said to be "absolutely devastated by the decision" and his solicitor has also said that he would ask for the case to be tried in Britain, having recently been diagnosed with Asperger syndrome. The US government maintains that he committed a malicious crime.
