PowerColor plans to launch a new series of multimedia videocards called PLAY! New to this series will be support the latest DisplayPort technology along with standard HDMI, DVI and TV-out. DisplayPort is the newest connection type offering a number of advantages over previous technologies. In addition to greater bandwidth, DisplayPort offers greater resolution, increased color depth and higher refresh rates. Until more components support DisplayPort, users can still utilize either HDMI/DVI. PowerColor also plans to utilize an after-market cooling fan from ZEROtherm with automatic fan control allowing the fan speed to adjust in response to temperature variations. PowerColor was not able to give additional information regarding core/memory speeds at press time.
