The Asus Eee 701 generated a lot of buzz in the marketplace when it was first released and met the needs of those wanting a capable ultra-portable device. Whether there was pent up demand or possibly the new sub-compact created new demand is open for debate. However, the fact is many were not comfortable with switching to a Linux machine.
