100 New Words Added By Merriam-Webster
One hundred new words have been added to Merriam-Webster's 2008 update of its Collegiate Dictionary, and many tech-related words have made the cut. Merriam-Webster monitors words over time before it even considers adding them, so you may not have even realized that some words we have been using for years weren't officially recognized until now. Merriam-Webster shocked many people by delcaring "w00t" its 2007 "Word of the Year"; once a word used soley by gamers. With new additions to its popular dictionary like webinar, malware and fanboy, it's pretty apparent geeks have a lot of influence in the vocabulary of today's society.
