That's not going to come as a surprise to any of you, as Intel has been the dominant force in the industry for a long time and has always held a considerably bigger share of the market than competitor, AMD. Accoring to research firm iSupply, Intel holds an impressive 79.7% market share, while AMD has a 10.9% share. Compared to the first quarter of 2007, Intel's share has actually dipped by 0.7% while AMD's share has grown by 2.2% (with some being at the expense of Intel and some at the expense of smaller companies). Intel and AMD combined account for 92.7% of the market, which is estimated to be worth $286.5 billion in 2008.
