AMD today released three new processors to its Phenom X4 quad-core family of CPUs. The Phenom X4 9950 Black Edition becomes AMD's new flagship processor at 2.6GHz. With the Black Edition moniker, it is targeted to gamers/enthusiasts and is its faster Phenom processor to date. The other two processors, the 2.0GHz AMD Phenom X4 9350e and 1.8GHz AMD Phenom X4 9150e, are interesting in that they are low-wattage (relatively speaking) drawing at most 65 watts under heavy loads. In contrast, the 9950 will peak at about 140 watts. These three CPUs all make use of a 65nm manufacturing process and come with 2MB of shared L3 cache and 512Kb of L2 cache per core. While the 9850 may be the king of AMD's lineup, you won't have to pay a king's ransom to own one as the suggested retail price is expected to be around $235US. The 9350e and 9150e are expected to come in at $195US and $175US respectively.
