In spite of all the controversy surrounding NVIDIA's PhysX drivers lately, there is some good news out there today and that is it can be made to run on AMD Radeon HD 3870 cards thanks to the efforts of Erin Badit (aka Regeneration) over at NGOHQ.com. Working with NVIDIA's CUDA and PhysX software development kits, Badit has been able to get the PhysX layer to work on a Radeon HD 3870. Testing it out using 3dMark Vantage he achieved a 22,606 CPU score on his first run. Unfortunately he has not been able to get hold of the latest HD 4850/4870 cards from AMD to test it out on more than one graphics card. Once he is comfortable with the results, he promises to make the drivers available through NGOHQ.com. In the meantime, Regeneration is asking users to be patient as some issues are ironed out first.
