I missed this earlier on in the week, but I think it still warrants attention. It would seem that Enermax has been preparing the succesor to its well received Galaxy series of power supplies, though hasn't been proudly displaying them at Computex, but rather giving sneak peeks behind closed doors. If you remember a week or so ago, we reported on Coolermaster announcing the first high wattage supply to achieve the 80 Plus Silver certification, well it seems that both of these new Enermax supplies (1050W and 850W) also hit this target. To achieve this a power supply must return certain efficiency figures at different load levels: 85% @ 20% load, 88% @ 50% load and 85% @ 100% load. Higher efficiency not only means lower electricity bills but also generally means cooler (and therfore quieter) operation. The Revolution supplies, and their respective test reports can be found among the list of Enermax models on the 80 Plus website. Release dates likely to be late July / early August.
