NIVIDIA is claiming that the new GeForce 9M GPUs are up to 40% faster than their 8 series counterparts, and of course considerably faster than certain integrated GPUs (Intel). The new parts incorporate features such as Purevideo HD with support for DVI, HDMI 1.3 and DisplayPort 1.1. The 9M series also includes Hybrid SLi technology, allowing low power integrated video to be used for the day to day grind and the high performance part to kick in when needed. As with NVIDIAs desktop video solutions, DirectX 10.1 support is lacking but that isn't a huge deal. The 9 series will be aimed at the value, mainstream and performance arenas, with the 9100M G taking care of the bottom line. Midrange is filled out with the 9400M, 9300M GS and 9200M GS, while the 9600M GT, 9600M GS and 9500M G cover the high end bases. Driver support for PhysX is also expected in Q3.
