Nvidia announced its Tegra processor aimed the mobile device market. The chips are designed from the start to be a low power integrated chip that includes graphics and video processing features. At the heart of the chip is an ARM 11 processor running at either 700- or 800MHz depending on the model. The new chips are targeted at what Intel has dubbed MIDs - Mobile Internet Devices - which fall somewhere below ultra-mobile PCs in size and performance. Because the ARM 11 is a RISC-based processor, the new chips are not-X86 compatible but are designed to run under Windows CE or Windows Mobile operating systems.
