Corsair Dominator DDR3 Sets World Record At 2462MHz
Memory manufacturers have been pushing out more DDR3 at increasingly higher speeds recently and today Corsair announced they have set a new frequency world record using a 1GB Dominator module. The guys at Corsair labs managed to push the RAM up to 2462MHz @ 9-9-9-24 on an ASUS P5E3 Premium motherboard (which uses Intel's X48 chipset). Now that claim would mean nothing without some backup, so Corsair have kindly provided a link to a CPU-Z Validation confirming the speed. There is no word in the press release as to how much voltage was used to achieve the record speed, but pushing towards 2.5GHz is certainly impressive. The record may also encourage sales of Dominator memory (surely not the plan!), which you can check out here.
